Young Money Entertainment is an American record label founded by New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne. The label is an imprint of Cash Money Records, of which Lil Wayne was president, and is distributed by Universal Records[1]. As of October 2, 2007, Lil Wayne has stated in an interview with Vibe magazine that he gave his position in Young Money Entertainment to Cortez Bryant[2].
Due to Lil Wayne stepping down from Young Money Entertainment and Currency leaving both Cash Money Records and Young Money Entertainment[3], Mack Maine and Nikki Minaj seem to be the only active artists left on the label. Although artists such as Mack Maine, Nikki Minaj, Boo, and Dizzy have released mixtapes or have been featured on them, no current Young Money Entertainment artist has released a full length album. Young Money Entertainment's official website also rarely updates and contains little to no information about the record label other than links to a message board and links to videos of Lil Wayne on the road.
