Westgate Resorts is a timeshare company owned and operated by David A. Siegel. Siegel started Central Florida Investments (CFI) in the early 1970s, as a real estate development firm. The firm started out of David Siegel's garage, but grew to be the second largest privately owned corporation in Central Florida, and the largest privately held timeshare company in the world.[citation needed]

Westgate Resorts employs more than 7000 people to date. The company first expanded from Central Florida to Miami and Daytona Beach, Florida, then outside of the State of Florida, into Park City, Utah; Gatlinburg, Tennessee; Las Vegas, Nevada; Williamsburg, Virginia; Branson, Missouri; Tunica, Mississippi; Mesa, Arizona, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Westgate Resorts has been the subject of many complaints of harassment and cold calling. Often unidentified numbers will call households multiple times a day with resort deals, or simply hang up without identifying themselves or notifying the party being called of any preexisting business relationship.[citation needed]

Westgate Resorts grew into the third-largest timeshare business in the world.[citation needed]
