webMethods NASDAQ: WEBM, which was founded in 1996, is a company that provides business integration software. The company is headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, and has offices throughout the United States, Europe, Middle East/North Africa, Asia Pacific and Japan.

In 2004, webMethods formed a strategic alliance with GXS offering a best-of-breed combination of integration software and integration services to organizations worldwide. SAP and webMethods partnered in 1999 to release a rebadged version of Integration Server as SAP Business Connector to provide integration abilities with SAP. In 1998 Microsoft and webMethods teamed up to produce XQL, a query language for XML.
