Between sunrise and sunset [1], a non-directional antenna at 5,000 watts produces a circular pattern roughly 60 miles in diameter.[2]
Night operation uses the 4 tower directional array at 5,000 watts to produce a highly focused single lobe pointed to the southeast towards West Chester and Philadelphia.[3]
As a Class B facility, WCOJ is not required to reduce their nighttime power and therefore have no use of a presunrise or postsunset authorization.
WCOJ is an all-talk format. Prior to 2006, WCOJ also played 1960's and 1970's adult contemporary music during the overnight hours and on weekends, with the exception of local programming.
