Volodymyr-Volynskyi (Ukrainian: Володимир-Волинський, translit. Volodymyr-Volyns'kyi, Polish: Włodzimierz Wołyński, Russian: Владимир-Волынский; also referred to as Vladimir-Volynsky) is a historic city located in the Volyn Oblast (province), in north-western Ukraine. Serving as the administrative center of the Volodymyr-Volynskyi Raion (district), the city itself is also designated as a separate raion within the oblast.

The city is located in the historic region of Volhynia. In the 1300s, Metropolitan Feognost of all Rus' resided in the city for several years before moving to Moscow.[1] The city was a part of Poland from 1569-1795 and 1919-1939. Austrian authorities referred to it as Lodomeria. During WWII, a German concentration camp was located nearby the city. A Cold War air base was located northeast of the city at Khovtnevoy.

The current estimated population is around 38,000 (as of 2004). 5 km south from Volodymyr is Zymne, with the oldest Orthodox monastery in Volynia.
