Coordinates: 9°58′N 77°48′E / 9.97, 77.8 Usilampatti (Tamil: உசிலம்பட்டி) is a city and a municipality in Madurai district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is one of the comparatively rich cities in India. It has a very active business district and an excellent school district. It is also notoriously famous for some violent caste clashes.

Usilampatti is located at madurai District 9.97° N 77.8° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 201 metres (659 feet).

As of 2001 India census[2], Usilampatti had a population of 29,599. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Usilampatti has an average literacy rate of 81%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 86%, and female literacy is 76%. In Usilampatti, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
