USS Oak Hill (LSD-51)

USS Oak Hill (LSD-51) is a Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship of the United States Navy. She was the second Navy ship to be named for Oak Hill, the home of President James Monroe in Loudoun County, Va.

Oak Hill was laid down on 21 September 1992, by the Avondale Shipyards, New Orleans, La.; launched on 11 June 1994; and commissioned on 8 June 1996.

As of 2005, Oak Hill is commanded by Commander Curtis J. Gilbert, homeported at NAB Little Creek, Virginia, and assigned to Amphibious Group 2.
