USS Grayling (SS-492)

USS Grayling (SS-492), a Tench-class submarine, was the fifth ship of the United States Navy to be named for the grayling, a fresh-water game fish closely related to the trout. Her name was assigned on 29 August 1944, but her construction was cancelled 12 August 1945.
