He was born Daryl Karolat in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and started in wrestling in 1989 in World Championship Wrestling as Nitron, the bodyguard for Woman. The gimmick did not last long and he went to Puerto Rico's World Wrestling Council. He also wrestled for All Japan Pro Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling before returning to the United States to wrestle briefly in the Global Wrestling Federation before returning to WCW in 1993 as Big Sky where he was managed by Woman and Sal Conte.
Karolat retired from wrestling in 1996, and has appeared in numerous films (as Tyler Mane), including How to Make a Monster (as Hardcore), ''Joe Dirt, The Scorpion King, Troy (as Ajax), Hercules (as Antaeus), and The Devil's Rejects (in the uncredited role of Rufus).
In 2007, he went on to film Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween, in which he plays the iconic starring role of Michael Myers. After winning the role, he noted that he consecutively watched seven of the eight Halloween films (excluding the third because Michael Myers does not appear) to better understand his character.[3] He is the tallest actor (6' 8") to portray the character. Daryl Karolat was sometimes billed as being 6' 9" and 6' 10" in the wrestling business.
