Touriya Haoud

Touriya Haoud born in Rhenen, the Netherlands on October 1, 1977, is a Dutch actress, model and singer of Macedonian, Moroccan and Algerian (arabic) heritage.

Soon after graduating the private University of Schoevers, with a Communication degree, a friend persuaded Touriya to participate in a modeling contest. Touriya not only won, but also from that moment on, she never looked back. Touriya then traveled Europe for the next few years, landing European campaigns with Tommy Hilfiger and Replay. In between her modeling, Touriya took various acting classes and landed a lead role in the popular Dutch television series "Hartslag", the Dutch version of ER.

In the winter of 2003, after only one year on television, she landed one of the leading characters in the highly acclaimed Dutch independent movie Shouf Shouf Habibi! (Hush Hush Baby). This movie was not only accepted to the prestigious Berlin Film Festival, but was also honored with the Public Choice Award. As of today this movie has been sold to more than forty countries and fifty-one festivals worldwide. Most recently screened at the Vancouver Film Festival, scoring positive remarks amongst critics.

In 2003, Touriya was chosen to be one of the two new faces for the TIM campaign; Italy's leading telecom network. The campaign is a prestigious one and Touriya's predecessor is no one less than Naomi Campbell. In Fall that year, Touriya also was the leading character in the new Campari commercial for both Italy and Germany. When she is not modelling, Touriya can be found in front of a film camera. To date she has acted in various video clips and television shows. Soon her beautiful Mediterranean looks, her long flowing hair and her unique, almond shaped eyes can also be seen in yet another Dutch movie.

As a successful international model, Touriya has graced the covers of Harper's Bazaar, Donna, GQ (Gentlemen's Quarterly), Max and Vogue Gioielli. Touriya's looks are not only destined for Europe. In spring 2004 she returned from Las Vegas, where she finished a shoot featuring as one of the two models who appeared in the global campaign for Replay. This campaign lasted until Fall 2004. In the first quarter of 2005 she was travelling between Paris, Milan, London and Los Angeles for modeling jobs and preparing the promotion for her first U.S. movie, Five Fingers. In Five Fingers, Touriya acts amongst Laurence Fishburne and Ryan Phillippe. As one of the main characters, Touriya plays Ryan's fiancée, just before he is obducted by terrorists (Laurence Fishburne).

Following the wrap of shooting Five Fingers, she moved to Los Angeles in April 2005. Currently, she can be seen in national commercials for Budweiser Select, TAG Body Spray and will be starring in the movie Prisoners of the Sun which will release in 2006 and is still in production.

When she's not working, Touriya enjoys reading a good book, cooking up her favorite Macedonian and Moroccan dishes, traveling around the coast of California or giving time out to help some of her favorite organizations, "Orange Babies", in South Africa.

Her best friend is Sylvie Meis.

On June 4, 2006, she married American actor Greg Vaughan. On December 16th, 2006, Touryia and her husband Greg Vaughan announced that they are excepting their first child. She is 7 months along and in due in late spring.

  • Her name Touriya means "Strongest Star", in an article on Maxim magazine in January 2006, she said: My name means 'strongest star.' You know, you have all the stars, and then you have..... I'm the North Star."
