Tom Caron

Tom Caron, originally from Lewiston, Maine is a television sports personalty, sportscaster and play-by-play person in the New England area.

Caron is a 1986 graduate of Saint Michaels College where he majored in journalism.

After graduating, Caron took a job with a small newspaper in Vermont covering the the Vermont Reds, Cincinnati's AA affiliate. He quickly left that job to take an a job for WPTZ-TV in Plattsburgh, New York where he covered the Montreal Canadians and Montreal Expos. He later held a sports anchor jobs at WNNE-TV in Hanover, New Hampshire.

In 1988, he took a sports anchor job WGME-TV in Portland, Maine. He stayed with the station for 5 years. In addition to his anchor duties, he hosted a weekly ski segment and produced a number of half-hour sports specials.

In 1993 left WGME-TV to work as sports reporter at WPXT-TV in Portland, where he also hosted a weekly hockey feature. Caron also provided play-by-play coverage for the Portland Pirates as as well as the New England Stingers of Roller Hockey International.

Caron currently hosts the New England Sports Network's (NESN) Red Sox coverage, and the Red Sox pre and post game shows and hosts Sportsdesk.

Caron, joined NESN in 1995, and has been with the station ever since. He first job for the station was to host the sports magazine Front Row and later served as the stations Boston Bruins Studio Host, Red Sox field reporter as well as doing play-by-play coverage for the Providence Bruins, Pawtucket Red Sox, college basketball and college hockey (including the Beanpot).

He also makes frequent guest appearances on sports talk radio station WEEI to discuss the Boston Red Sox. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Caron lives in Framingham, Massachusetts with his wife Kelley and their two sons Jack and Robbie.

Caron is a three-time New England Emmy Award winner.
