A threesome is the term which describes sexual intercourse involving three people, also referred to as a ménage à trois. Although all involved parties are participating in the same scenario, there may typically be a focus of attention on the lone sex participant, whereby the two parties of the same sex are less intimately involved with each other. In this sense, whilst some may suggest that any two men who are engaged with one woman, may be bisexual, this is often not the case. Instead, they jointly participate in the threesome, both focusing on the same woman.
Threesomes may also involve three same-sex participants.
