"The One with Christmas in Tulsa" is episode 10 of Season 9 of the television sitcom Friends.

First aired: December 12, 2002.

Chandler is being sent to work in Tulsa on Christmas day, and is set to stay there until after New Year's Eve. Monica does not react positively to that, but he ends up traveling anyway. At the office in Tulsa, co-workers feel bad to be working on Christmas day, so Chandlers gives them a rant on how he will be alone in a hotel while the co-workers will spend the 25th of December with their families. After being asked about how Christmas feels like with his friends, flashbacks of "The One with the Girl from Poughkeepsie", "The One with the Routine", "The One with Phoebe's Dad" and "The One with the Holiday Armadillo" ensue. After the flashbacks, Chandler decides to send the people of the office home, and only a woman named Wendy (played by Selma Blair) refuses the offer and stays with him. Monica calls Chandler and is angry woth the fact that he is alone with a woman. Chandler tells her not to worry about it and hangs up the phone afer giving "merry Christmas" to his friends. Wendy then says that she is interested in him, and make several attempts at seducing him, but he refuses. She then asks him why he is Tulsa if he loves his wife so much. Flashback of "The One with the Truth About London", "The One with the Triplets", "The One in Vegas, Part Two" and "The One with Rachel's Book" ensue. Chandler then returns to New York and reveals he has quit his job. The chapter ends with Chandler searching for a new job on the newspaper.

  • Chandler: I don't know, I'm not used to girls making passes at me! Wait a minute... am I sexy in Oklahoma?

  • Chandler: No, no... no! Look, I'm, I'm married!
  • Wendy: So? I'm married.
  • Chandler: I'm happily married.
  • Wendy: Oh... what's that like?

  • Chandler: Look, you're a really nice person... ham stealing and adultery aside. But, what I have with my wife is pretty great, so nothing is ever gonna happen between us.
