Teispes of Anshan

Teispes (Old Persian: 𐎨𐎡𐏁𐎱𐎡𐏁^[1] Cišpiš^[2]; Greek Τεΐσπης; died 640 BC^{[citation needed]}) was the son of Achaemenes and a King of Persia. He captured the Elamite city of Anšan and called himself "King of the City of Anšan", a first step that would lead to the rise of the Persian Empire. He was succeeded by his grandson, Cyrus I of Anshan.
