The Suitcases

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Suitcases is an Atlanta electro punk / noise rock band, formed in mid 2004 by C. Daresta and D. Haddon. Both trade off on instruments frequently, playing everything from synthesizers to guitars to synthetic drums.

The band released its debut CDr SC on Stickfigure Records and the band's own Sleepaway Recordings in January of 2005 as a trio that featured full drummer J. Quinn. J. Quinn soon left to play full time in his indie rock band Castle of Togetherness.

The band later released the 3" CDr "Modern Art" collection in early 2006 on Sleepaway Recordings. By mid 2006, the then duo appeared on local Atlanta college station WREK and performed a nearly hour long set of synth noise/art damaged psychedelia. The dawn of 2007 saw the band release another CDr entitled "Standards of Living," a lo-fi collection of noise rock and industrial music. Since the band started playing live in 2004, it has opened for bands like Shoplifting, Kiosk, Michael Columbia, Hot Girls Cool Guys, Girl Talk, Health, and Ex Models. The band members are in a plethora of other projects, from C. Daresta's No Wave influenced art punk band Unprotected Sex to D. Haddon's psychedelic keyboard duo Tree Creature.
