Standard Assessment Procedure
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) 2001, is the UK Government's recommended method system for measuring the energy rating of residential dwellings. It typically measures the annual energy costs per space as well as the costs for water heating. The SAP has been updated for 2005
The scale also measures CO2 emissions based on home and water heating per volume.
The SAP is used to fulfil building regulations which require the display of an energy rating in any dwelling.
Currently, the SAP procedures only apply to Great Britain (March 2002 Scotland, April 2002 England and Wales) and not to Northern Ireland.
