Slovnaft is the largest Slovak refinery established in 1957 in Bratislava. In 2000, Slovnaft became part of the Hungarian MOL Group, which owns 98.4 % of the shares. Now, Slovnaft has a two foreign branches. Slovnaft CZ in the Czech Republic and Slovnaft Polska in Poland.

Slovnaft is successor of Apollo company, which was established in 1895 in Bratislava and it's refinery was bombarded by the Allies in June 1944. It was located near today's Apollo Bridge. The Apollo company was later nationalized and renamed to Slovnaft.

According to its website, the refinery's annual processing capacities reach up to 6 million tonnes of crude oil. It has a production capacity of about 115,000 BPD (Barrels per day). In comparison, Exxon Mobil has production capacity of about 6,4 million BPD.
