Skank

Skank is slang and a pejorative term used in the Western World to describe a person, usually female, who is either sexually promiscuous in a tasteless manner or behaves in a way which others perceive to be such.[1][2] The term "Skank" differs from that of "Slut" in that whereas the latter implies only sexual promiscuity, the former also implies poor taste, personally degrading behaviour and low socioeconomic class.
Originally denoting a bad smell[citation needed] or a filthy surface[3], "skank" has come to refer to someone who is physically repugnant for their filth, and figuratively applied to someone who is morally or socially repugnant for their behavior and demeanor, most often sexual conduct.[4]
- In the movie The Crow (1994), one of Top Dollar's (Michael Wincott) henchmen (Angel David) is called "skank."
- In the South Park episode "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset", included inside Paris Hilton's store is a perfume called Skanque.
- In the movie The Fast and the Furious, Michelle Rodriguez's character Letty sees two girls with Dominic and tells them she smells skanks.
- In the movie "Mean Streets" (1973), Robert DeNiro's character says, "You call those skanks 'girls?'" about two women listening to a jukebox in a pool hall.
- In the Pretenders's song, "Brass in Pocket" (1980), about a woman trying to attract the attention of a potential lover, Chrissie Hynde sings "I got rhythm, can't miss a beat / I got new skank, so reet [right, cool].
