Siri Tachi is a fictional character from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. She is best known as Obi-Wan Kenobi's forbidden love interest.
Siri first appeared in the Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice series by Jude Watson. As a youngling, she was noted for her skills in lightsaber combat, and had a spirited disposition which often set her as a good foil to young Obi-Wan. Adi Gallia took her on as a Padawan learner. During a mission together in their late teens, Siri and Obi-Wan fell in love, though they knew such feelings were forbidden. After being counseled by Qui-Gon Jinn and Yoda when the mission was over, the two Padawans resolved to suppress their feelings for each other so both could stay on the Jedi path.
By the time the first Jedi Quest book takes place, Siri Tachi had abandoned the Jedi Order after a severe disagreement with her Master while tracking smugglers on the Kessel Run, and allied herself with the ruthless pirate and slave trader Krayn. It was later revealed to be a secret mission to infiltrate Krayn's organization. After her mission ended, she returned to the Order and took a Padawan, Ferus Olin, who was a rival of Obi-Wan's headstrong apprentice, Anakin Skywalker. Ferus left the Jedi before taking the trials, and Siri never trained another.
In Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, during the Battle of Geonosis, Siri piloted her Jedi Starfighter alongside her former Master Adi Gallia in the space battle above the planet. At the start of the Clone Wars in Boba Fett: The Fight to Survive, she was the Jedi dispatched to Kamino to inspect the clones and also investigate the sighting of Jango Fett's ship.
Siri Tachi died on Azure near the end of the Clone Wars in Secrets of the Jedi. Obi-Wan Kenobi was devastated at her death, as he returned to the bounty hunter who had shot Siri and put his lightsaber up to the bounty hunter's neck. It was noted by Anakin that this was the closest he had ever felt his Master to the Dark Side of the Force.
Siri is frequently mentioned and appears in flashbacks in Star Wars: The Last of the Jedi, the series in which her former apprentice Ferus Olin is a major character.
