Shelley wears a white shirt and pink trousers. Her facial features are distinguished by her huge braces and headgear. She speaks with a distinctively adenoidal voice. She has long brown hair and usually an angry expression on her face.

Shelley is rather violent, has an extremely short temper, and usually vents out her anger on Stan, especially in An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig, where she slammed him off the walls of their house and into a cabinet. She also has given Stan a black eye. There have been other moments when she also seems to have superhuman strength, and once had the ability to lift a piano over her head with surprising ease. She has shown on numerous occasions her contempt for Stan's friends, as well, and frequently refers to them as "turds" (probably because she can't think of any other insults). However, whenever Stan tells his parents that she is bullying him, they don't believe him. This behavor is probably due to her supposed low self-esteem brought about by her dowdy appearance. She is violent because she has no life whatsoever, and her boyfriend dumped her. Her boyfriend supposedly dumped her due to the fact she kept on refusing his many requests to have sex with him.

In the episode Cat Orgy, Shelley was dating Skyler, a twenty-two year old who has his own band. He pressured Shelley to have sex and eventually got fed up and left her. Shelley was upset so while babysitting Cartman she got revenge. Cartman got her to smash up Skyler's prize guitar. He returned angry but they threw catnip at him and the cats that were following Cartman's cat Mister Kitty (who was in heat) pounced on him in a sexual frenzy.

Shelley loves watching television. Her favourite shows include Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Friends. She is also a fan of Russell Crowe, but all these things fall short of her favourite pastime; making Stan suffer. She also enjoys listening to Britney Spears' records.

  • Pre School- Offers to defend the boys from Trent Boyett if they confess to Mrs. Claridge about a terrible accident in pre school.

When the boys are grounded, Shelley is supposed to watch over them, though justs leaves them sitting on the couch, while she listens to Britney Spears upstairs in her room.
