Sha Tin Station (Chinese: 沙田站, Jyutping: sa1 tin4, Pinyin: Shātián) is a station in Sha Tin on East Rail Line.

The station was built with Citylink Plaza which links to New Town Plaza. It has a large bus terminal with buses going to many places around Hong Kong (such as Sai Kung or Tung Chung).

Platform Platform 1 East Rail Line towards Lo Wu/Lok Ma Chau
(The platform serves as a buffer to eschew through trains and is also used for special departures during peak hours and race days.)

There are two island platforms for platforms 1 and 2, and platforms 3 and 4 respectively.

Trains normally stop at platforms 2 and 3. Platforms 1 and 4 are used in the following occasions:

  • for special departures during peak hours (platform 4 for southbound) and race days (platform 1 for northbound),
  • to serve as buffers when the train frequency is high during peak hours, or
  • to serve as buffers so that non-stop through trains can overtake local trains.
