Scott Beatty

Scott Beatty is an American author who has worked extensively for the popular comic book publisher DC Comics since the mid '90s. He is perhaps best known for his work on several encyclopedic guides to superheroes.

The popular series of Ultimate Guides published by DK Publishing and are known for delving deeply into the topic at hand, and they typically require a great deal of addition research on Beatty's part. Among others, Beatty has written:

  • Batman: The Ultimate Guide to the Dark Knight
  • Catwoman: The Visual Guide to the Feline Fatale
  • JLA:The Ultimate Guide to the Justice League of America
  • Wonder Woman: The Ultimate Guide to the Amazon Princess

Beatty's latest major project is The DC Comics Action Figure Archive. This will list and detail the many DC action figure collections that have been produced over the last five decades. Production of the book is still in its early stages with an expected release in 2007.
