Savannah Smiles is a 1982 comedy film starring Bridgette Andersen, Donovan Scott, and Mark Miller. The plot centers around a seven year-old girl named Savannah, whose father is running for Senate. Savannah's parents pay no attention to her, so she decides to run away and hides in her Aunt's car.

When her aunt goes to the park, Savannah switches cars and ends up with two convicts, who just escaped the night before. The convicts take her in and soon discover there is a $100,000 reward for her safe return. But the robbers grow close to her, and ironically, Savannah finds the love and attention she always wanted.

Savannah Smiles was released on VHS in 1982, but had been out of print for several years, and was going for expensive prices online due to its somewhat large cult following with people who grew up in the 1980's.

On September 26, 2006 it was released on DVD, by Anchor Bay.

  • Bridgette Andersen, who starred in this film as a child, died of an accidental overdose of alcohol and drugs on May 20, 1997 at the age of 21.
  • Another death associated with this movie is that of actress Carol Wayne, who played country nightclub singer "Doreen" in this film. She drowned in January 1985 while on vacation in Mexico.
  • The late pornstar Savannah took her stage name from this film, as it was one of her favorite movies.
  • Savannah Smiles is also the name of a club/bar in Savannah, Georgia that hosts dueling pianos. [1]
