Born to famous cardiologist Yashraj Mehra, Rahul comes from a family of doctors. Rich, handsome, smart... Rahul has it all. He joins Sanjivani Hospital as an intern and dreams of becoming a great doctor.

Cute, bubbly and beautiful, Juhi is from Simla. Orphaned at an early age, she is brought up by her grandmother. Juhi has fought her way through life with grit and determination and has now come to Mumbai to find her destiny as an intern at Sanjivani Hospital.such a nice girl.She care's for every one.

Va-va-voom, drop-dead gorgeous... Simran is Rahul's best friend. They have known each other since childhood and have always been together. Simran is completely in love with Rahul. He's actually Umesh... but he'd rather be called Omi. Omi is a laugh riot. As an intern, he sees people in pain and suffering everyday. While he tries to cure them with medicines, he believes that if he can drive someone's pain away with a smile, even if for a moment, it is an achievement. He is a doctor who heals by spreading cheer.
Sanjivani tells story about four interns, Juhi, Rahul, Simran and Omi. All of them have joined Sanjivani hospital as inters when serial starts. Sanjivani is the story of how these four come into a difficult and demanding profession. They have high ideals, passion, energy - and a degree of naïveté about their work. They bring a breath of fresh air into the hospital.
Sanjivani is about Rahul and Juhi - and about how their animosity turns into friendship and love. It is about Rahul and Simran, who are childhood friends, and whom, everybody assumes, will get married some day.
Sanjivani is also about the relationship between Rahul and his father, Dr Yash Raj Mehra, a famous cardiac surgeon.
The serial takes us through the trials and problems of doctors who fight a constant battle against disease and death. It is a story of the medical profession, but more than that, it is the tale of the lives of people who are regarded as miracle workers - but who are actually only human, with families, lives and emotions of their own.

Season one of Sanjivani ended on STAR Plus in 2004. The sequel, Dill Mill Gayye, now airs on STAR One.
