Royal Numismatic Society of New Zealand

Royal Numismatic Society of New Zealand is a nonprofit group which seeks to "encourage and promote the study of numismatics and other related historical subjects." It was founded in 1931 as New Zealand Numismatic Society and adopted its current name in 1947.

It is based in Wellington, New Zealand, where it holds regular meetings.

It maintains a library of numismatic books, which can be accessed by its members by mail.

The Presidents of the New Zealand Numismatic Society were:

  • Reverend Daniel Cross Bates, VD, JP,FRNSNZ (1931 - 1933)
  • Mr William Henry (Bill) Lampard, FRNSNZ (to 2003)
  • Mr Martin Purdy, FRNSNZ (2003 - 2006)
  • Mr David Galt (since 2006)
