Rother is a local government district in East Sussex, England. Its council is based in Bexhill-on-Sea. The district is named after the River Rother; it contains the historic towns of Battle which was the site of the Battle of Hastings and Rye which has a small harbour. It forms an economic unit with the separate town of Hastings, which it completely surrounds.

The district was formed on April 1, 1974 by a merger of Bexhill and Rye urban districts along with Battle Rural District. The civil parishes within the district are:
