From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Robert John Walter, known as Bob Walter, (born 30 May 1948, Swansea) is a politician in the United Kingdom. He is the Conservative Party Member of Parliament for North Dorset, and was first elected in 1997. He has since defended his seat at both the 2001 and 2005 general elections. Walter is noted for his campaigning against gender discrimination in private members clubs, opposition to the 2003 invasion of Iraq and is currently campaigning against wind turbines in his North Dorset constituency.

Unlike many Conservative Party members, he is pro-European, and supports the possibility of British entry to the Euro. He supported Kenneth Clarke's unsuccessful leadership bids in 2001 and 2005.
