Raveena Tandon (born October 26, 1970 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India) is an Indian actress and former model. She is the daughter of director Ravi Tandon.
Raveena Tandon Biography Being the daughter of erstwhile filmmaker Ravi Tandon, Raveena spent her childhood close to the razzmatazz of Mumbai’s film world. Once in her teens Raveena began getting offers from filmmakers chiefly because of her good looks.
Raveena made her Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan in “Pathar Ke Phool” in 1990. Although the film was a flop Raveena continued to struggle to make her own niche in Bollywood’s big league. And it was not until “Mohra” that she became famous among the movie buffs as the ravishing ‘mast mast’ girl.
Raveena has to her credit many inconsequential flicks like “Taqdeerwala”, “Ziddi”, “Daava” and “Salaakhein”. But simultaneously she continued to make her transition from the hip-shaking bimbo to being a sensible actress. She showed her histrionic skills playing realistic roles in films like “Shool” and “Ghaath”.
Raveena’s growth as a serious actress became apparent after she won the National Award as the Best Actress in 2001 for playing the tortured wife in Kalpana Lazmi’s “Daman”.
