It all begins in the year 0015 when a force known as the "mother" Dark Bring, Sinclaire, threatened the world. Shiba, the first Rave Master attempted to destroy it with his sword, the Ten Commandments. The resulting explosion, known as "Overdrive", destroyed one-tenth of the known world, and at the time it was largely unexplored. The "Holy Bring" or "RAVE", named after its creator using Etherion, Resha Valentine, using the first and last letters of her first and last name, which was used to power the ultimate form of The Ten Commandments was shattered in Overdrive, dividing Rave into five pieces. Shiba was able to hold onto the piece that was required to power the sword at all, but the remaining pieces were scattered across the world. However, Shiba was unable to destroy the Sinclaire, and only succeeded in damaging it.
Fifty years later, Haru Glory, a teenager living on the peaceful Garage Island discovers a strange creature with a small white body, dot-like eyes, and a huge drill-like nose while fishing. He names it "Shabutaro" at first until he encounters Shiba, who corrects Haru by calling the creature "Plue". Shiba explains that Plue is actually his companion and also a Rave Warrior, bearer of the rave.
Soon, Feber, a member of Demon Card, an organization that is attempting use the Dark Bring to take over the world, finds Shiba and demands that he hand over the Rave. Shiba refuses and tries to retaliate by using the Rave's power. It fails and Shiba is quickly injured by Feber's giant arm cannon. Shiba hands Haru the Rave and tells him to run away. Haru refuses and tries to help Shiba. With Rave clutched in his fist, he punches Feber. To everyone's surprise, Haru manages to unleash the Rave's power with this punch, defeating Feber with an explosion. Seeing this, Shiba realizes that Haru has been chosen by the Rave to become the second generation Rave Master. Thus begins Haru's search for the other pieces of Rave and his quest to defeat the Demon Card.

Rave
- Originally it was called "Holy Bring" but it was renamed by Shiba in memory of Resha Valentine.
- The power of light, created by Resha Valentine in hope to defeat Dark Bring. Rave is the magic stone which Haru uses to battle against Dark Bring. The main stone is in the shape of a sword, and draws on the power of four other, sphere shaped Raves.
- It was created in the Kingdom of Symphonia.
- Although Rave is powerful, only when Haru can find all five pieces and join them together will the true power of Rave be revealed.
- Shiba used Rave to destroy the dark stone once and for all. However after breaking it, a terrible explosion occurred, called Overdrive. The explosion gave Dark Bring the chance to escape and Rave was split into five pieces and scattered across the globe.
- Fifty years later, Rave chose a new master, Haru Glory and thus, Haru was given the task to find all the Raves in order to defeat the evil Dark Bring.
- Each has its own use. The main Rave is used to power up Haru.
-
- The Rave of Knowledge provides the user skills and powers, and learns more when the situation calls for it.
-
- The Rave of Combat allows Haru or Plue to create force fields.
-

- The Rave of Destiny lets the group contact Saga, the maker of prophecies when they need advice.
Dark Bring
- The power of darkness. The counterpart of Rave, which is the power of light.
- It was created and used by the powerful nation, Raregroove.
- Dark Bring is being used by Demon Card, to do all the dirty work.
- Since the Overdrive, Dark Bring has manifested itself in the form of small stones, each with their own individual power. Dark Brings also create evil in the hearts of the user, even if they are good at heart. Only Haru and Plue can destroy a Dark Bring.
Sinclair
- The ultimate Mother Dark Bring, said to be the one which caused the Overdrive fifty years ago. This is the only one which can create other Dark Brings, and is held by Lucia Raregroove.
Overdrive
- A huge, superpowerful explosion that completely wiped out 1/10ths of the entire world. It occurs unexpectedly when Shiba strike the Dark Bring Sinclair with Rave.
Death Storm
- A superpowerful storm created following the Overdrive. It's caused during an explosion disrupting the atmospheric currents in the area.
- Its stayed in a fixed location.
- Inaccessible both on sea and on air. Only two ships manage to penetrate it, the Silver Knights and Sigma 44.
- In the eye of the storm lies a desolate land/continent of a lost kingdom, Symphonia, destroyed by the Overdrive.
Silver Claimer
- Person who can freely control silver and often use silver as their weapon to fight.
- This ability is known to be rare as few people are able to use it.
- Only 2 silver claimer are known, Musica and Reina.
- Silver Claiming is the second strongest alchemist ability relative to Gold Claiming due to gold's greater stability and the amount of energy required.
Aetherion
- A power that can turn nothing into something, but something into nothing if not properly control. This is the power that is used by Resha Valentine to create Rave. Elie later used it to combine all the 5 pieces of Rave together to bring Rave back to its true form.
- So far, only Resha Valentine/Elie is shown to possess this power.
Star Memory
- Gale tells Haru about this before his death. The Star Memory is said to be a sacred place made of millions of stars, and holds the answers of all life's questions. No one knows what it truly is, but only when Rave is restored to its true from will the doorway be opened.
The Endless
- A gigantic monster made up of thousands of stones, The Endless caused carnage many years ago, before coming to a rest near the entrance of the Star Memory. When Haru battles Lucia to stop him from entering Star Memory, the monster reawakens. So far, it seems restricted to the area near Star Memory, but Haru must find a way to destroy it. In actual fact, the Endless was created millennia ago, when am ancestor of the Raregrove family went to Star Memory to revert the Earth back to a period of prosperity. The sole propose of the Endless is to destroy the entire dimension/reality of the Rave universe, so as to bring it back to the period of time, before the ancestor of the Raregrove used Star Memory to change history.
Demon Card
- Also known as Shadow Guard in the anime, is an evil organisation headed by King, that make used of Dark Bring to control about 1/3 of the world. It was actually supposed to be called Demon Guard, but the Gales made a mistake with a sign and just went with it.

- The Top 6 in the Demon Card besides King, the Oracion Six comprises Shuda, Reina, Jegan, Berial, Iulius, and Haja. Eventually, Deep Snow replaces Shuda later on.
The manga series started off in 1999 which span out an anime from it. There were 35 manga volumes released in Japan, completing the series. So far, there have been 25 (as of 29th August,2007) released in the United States.
An anime was produced by Studio Deen, and it only ran for two seasons. It is unknown why the series was cancelled. It is unknown whether it was complications with the crew (similar to Inuyasha) or ratings dropping (similar to Rurouni Kenshin). The series ended on a major cliffhanger because it only covered less than a third of the Manga series. Many stories, such as Elie's memories, the last two raves, Julia's enslavement, the battle with Lucia, etc were left unresolved. However, the manga was able to last years afterwords, and it concluded the story.

- In the Song Continent where Haru and his companions begin their adventures, the towns and cities are named after styles of music. For example, Punk street and Ska.
- Haru's belt buckle (and wallet from around episode 44 (in RUby's casino)) says "DnB" which could be a loose translation of "RnB", possibly referring to the breakbeat style known as "drum n bass" (there is a city by this name in the Song continent).
- Different characters and places in the series reference music. Musica and Symphonia are such examples, with Symphonia referecing symphonies. Most musical references are confined to the Song Continent.
- The largest city on Song Continent is called "Experiment". It was where Elie met Sieg Hart for the second time and it was "revealed" that she was an "experiment" for cloning Resha Valentine.
- Other continents include the Luca Continent, the location of the city of Rabarrier and Jin Tower. Southernberg, whose shallow oceans confine the mermaid village of Mildesta, and the location of the Haru's battles with Doryu, and Musica and Reina's battle with Ogre. There is also the Iima continent.
- Some of the technology seems highly advanced, but there seems to be no shortage of magic, medieval weapons, and various mythological references.
- All the forms of the Ten Commandments has their name written on them except for Blue Crimson and Millions Suns.
- The names of the Imperial Guards under Deep Snow are Lazenby the White Flame, Moore the Full Moon, Golden-eye Brosnan, and Dalton the Chrysalis. The names are all the last names of the actors who played the role of James Bond.
- Jiggle Butt Gang are featured in the anime Get Backers
- In both Japanese and English the Sword has the number 10 in its name.
- In Volume 3 of the Pastel manga, Mugi (the main character) wins Plue from a game center.
- A picture of Plue is seen in the Getbackers manga.
- Plue is featured in the manga Fairy Tail, where he is a summon by one of the main characters and is nicknamed Plue.
- If you put Remi, Solasido, and Fua's names together, it makes up the musical alphabet (Re mi fa so la si do)
