The team was known as SC Rapperswil-Jona until 2005, when it changed to its present name. Ex-NHLer Doug Gilmour played for them in the strike shortened season 1995.
This is the original logo of the team, used until circa 1990. This logo shows a hockey puck with the letter "e". On the right side of the "e" there is a part of a rose from the official coat of arms of the city of Rapperswil
This logo was used before the name of the team was changed to Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in 2005
