Psychological Types, 1971 is the title of the sixth volume in the Princeton/Bollingen edition of the Collected Works of Carl Jung. it is a translation of "Psychologische Typen" published by Rascher Verlag, Zurich in 1921.

Jung used Psychological Types to categorize individuals into primary types of psychological function.

He suggested that there were four main Functions of Consciousness: Two perceiving functions

Two Judging functions

And 2 main Attitude Types

Jung then theorized that whichever function dominates consciousness, its opposite function is repressed, and will characterize unconscious behavior.
