Auersperg was a German princely family, which held estates in Austria and Thengen (located in southern Baden-Württemberg, Germany, north of Schaffhausen, Switzerland.)

The Principality of Auersperg emerged from the earlier county of Auersperg of the junior branch of the House of Pancraz in 1653.

The princes of Auersperg also held at various times the duchies of Silesia-Münsterberg and Gottschee.

Auersperg was partitioned in 1795 between itself, Auersperg-Schönfeldscher and Auersperg-Zweig. All three territories were mediatised to Austria and Baden in 1806.
