Plexiglas guitars
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Acrylic glass guitars are electric guitars made of acrylic glass or something similar. This article is about one such guitar, and other when others become available. The Mitten Plexiglas G [citation needed](Transparent Bronze, Bullet-Proof) Electric guitar came out (as a prototype) in 1976.
This guitar resembled a Gibson Les Paul, at an inch and a quarter thick. The Hofner neck had Grover Tuning Machines on it, and featured two Carvin Humbucking (adjustable) pickups, a Tune-A-Matic [adjustable] bridge, and a Bigsby Tailpiece.
The guitar was first tested and reviewed in the PTM Piano Trade Magazine, and in the Musical Merchandise Review along with mentions in Guitar Player and Rolling Stone, and was favorably tested by a guitarist in the Linda Ronstadt Band. The guitar was well received by guitarists and guitar stores.
