Pico (Portuguese for the "peak", Capeverdean Crioulo languages, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: Piku, São Vicente: Pik') is in central part of the central part of the municipality of Santiago, Cape Verde. The town is the 13th largest city in Cape Verde. Pico is linked with a major highway linking Assomada and the capital city of Praia. It is located about 70 km south of Tarrafal, SW of Pedro Badejo, W of Calheta do São Miguel and 55 km WNW of Praia. The national park of Pico d'Antônia which is Pico's fame is bounded to the west along its forests and its slopey valley. More mountains dominate the northeast and the central part are farmlands.

The population has been steadily and into today. The GDP for the town is low and a part of the population live in poverty, much of the population moved to other cities or elsewhere including the northern part of the world.
