Life & Personal Development Coaching is still a relatively new concept within the UK, although it has rapidly become the second fastest growing industry in the UK after IT. Life coaching& Personal Development coaching is about helping individuals to improve themselves, their lives and in a business setting, their company or the company they are employed by. Coaching is now widely recognised as an extremely effective tool for improving organisations and their employees. The CIPD Training & Development survey 1995, stated that 70% of line managers now use coaching and that this is expected to increase dramatically, with 70% of the respondents stating that they expect to increase their use of coaching. However, the report goes on to say that although organisations are using Line Managers to coach, “most respondents believed that coaching is more effective when carried out by an external practitioner”.
