From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zeze High School(滋賀県立膳所高等学校) is located in Otsu, Shiga, Japan, within walking distance from Lake Biwa and has about 1300 students. The school was founded in 1898 and is one of the most prestigious senior high schools in Shiga; its root dates back to a major samurai training school of the area. The school's motto is 'Jyungi-Ryokkou', that is to comply with honorable path and to industriously devote to achieve individual aspiration. Like its motto, the school excels in academic and most students seek further education in universities and also excels in sports such as rowing, rugby, basketball and soccer which had participated in national competitions. Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology appointed the school as a 'Super Science High School', an institution which is particularly devoted to develop prime quality science students.

More than 45 years have passed since the old buildings were built, and new modern buildings were needed. The school therefore had built new buildings at the old school field to replace the old ones without disrupting normal academic activities, completed in 2006. The old buildings will be grounded and then converted to the new field.
