Olympia Dukakis (born June 20, 1931 in Lowell, Massachusetts) is an Academy Award-winning American actress. The daughter of Greek immigrants to the United States, she was educated at Boston University.

Olympia Dukakis has starred in many American movies, including Steel Magnolias, Mr. Holland's Opus, The Thing About My Folks, and Moonstruck (for which she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress). Her theater, film, and television work has also led her to win Obie awards, a Los Angeles Critics Award, and a Golden Globe award. She also played the role of Anna Madrigal in the television Tales of the City productions. Much of Dukakis' talent comes in sharp comic timing, which she has put to good use as sarcastic but wise motherly figures to the lead characters such as Moonstruck and Mr. Holland's Opus.

Dukakis has won the British Academy Award for Moonstruck, and has been nominated for the Emmy (Tales of the City), and was nominated for the Canadian Academy Award (The Event).

She provided a voice for The Simpsons episode 'The old man and the key' as Grampa's love interest. Dukakis had a supporting role in the 2005 independent film 3 Needles. She recently acted in The Librarian: Return to King Solomon's Mines.

In 2003, Dukakis published her National Bestselling autobiography Ask Me Again Tomorrow: A Life in Progress.

Recent roles include In the Land of Women and Away From Her.

She is a cousin to Michael Dukakis, the former governor of Massachusetts who was the Democratic candidate for president in 1988.
