Officer Barbrady is a police officer in the animated series South Park. Barbrady is often outsmarted by anything, particularly the cows from "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe". He was more important in earlier episodes. He is voiced by Trey Parker.
Barbrady is extremely incompetent at what he does, and is generally a bumbling oaf, incapable of solving any of the crimes he is charged to investigate. He even inadvertently helped Mr. Garrison attempt to kill Kathie Lee Gifford. For whatever reason, Mayor McDaniels still often summons him, probably because he is the only cop in South Park until season 7. Despite this he actually does keep the peace in South Park as shown in "Chickenlover" when shortly after he retired the city fell into anarchy. Barbrady is likely near deaf; he wears a hearing aid and speaks in a loud, expressionless manner. In a few episodes, it has been implied that he and Mayor McDaniels are in a relationship even though in "Chickenlover" and "Spookyfish" Barbrady claims to have (or have had) a wife. Officer Barbrady doesn`t drink coffee, as seen in episode "Gnomes"; he instead prefers to get hit in the face by a cat swung by the tail.
Since the 7th season, it seems as if Sergeant Yates has replaced Officer Barbrady as the show's primary law enforcement representative, although Barbrady is still seen whenever an incompetent cop is needed.

Barbrady had a rather traumatic childhood as was revealed in Season Seven's "Toilet Paper". He used to be dressed up as a little girl and made to sit on his uncles' laps. These events greatly disturbed Barbrady and make him cry.
Barbrady was illiterate until Season Two's "Chickenlover" when Chickenlover made a plot to make him read by having sex with chickens. Barbrady was also sent to school to learn how to read by the Mayor. Chickenlover made Barbrady learn where he would strike next by reading the clues left at the crime scenes. When the arrest was finally made, Barbrady was thankful at first to Chickenlover but arrested him nonetheless for being a gallophile. Chickenlover then gave him the book "Atlas Shrugged" which Barbrady thought was "a load of crap" and made him realize reading is a waste of his time.
- "Okay people, move along, there's nothing to see here!"
- "That is the silliest thing I’ve ever heard."
- "I just need to talk to someone who knows how toilet-paperers think."
- "Alright! Alright! My dad dressed me up like a little girl on poker nights and made me sit on all my uncles' laps!"
- "Cows turn themselves inside-out all the time!"
- "I just thought of something! Oh no wait, that's subtraction."
- "What's the trouble? Where's the body?"
- "Oh boys, you move along, this isn't for young eyes to see."
- "Me? How did I get into this mess?"
- "That's a good question! Let me get right on that....with thinking!"

- Officer Barbrady is a fan of Fiona Apple, as revealed in "Mecha-Streisand".
- Since the first season Officer Barbrady uses the same line of "Move along people, there's nothing to see here" when he wants public attention diverted from anything.
- Over the course of Seasons, Barbrady's voice changes, most noticeably in "Erection Day" in Season 9. This is likely due to the fact that Trey Parker may have forgotten how to do the voice, or as Parker's voice has changed over time, so has Barbrady's.
