2006 Norwegian Football Cup Final

The 2006 Norwegian Football Cup Final took place at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo on November 12. Fredrikstad were in their 18th final (11 wins and 7 runner-ups), while Sandefjord were in their first final ever and had the chance to win the first trophy in the club's history.

- With this victory, Fredrikstad have won the Norwegian cup 11 times, only surpassed by Odd Grenland (12 wins).

- Sandefjord Fotball had never before been in a Norwegian cup final, but one of the clubs predecessors, Sandefjord Ballklubb, has been in two cupfinals. The club lost in both 1957 and in 1959.
- The final in 1957 was between Fredrikstad F.K. and Sandefjord Ballklubb (one of Sandefjord Fotball's predecessors). Fredrikstad F.K. won 4-0.
- This is the fourth final between a club from Østfold and a club from Vestfold. The 3 previous finals were the aforementioned 1957-final, 1932's Fredrikstad vs. Ørn, and 1929's Sarpsborg vs Ørn. The Østfold-club has come out on top in all four encounters.
- A team with red as one of its main colors has won a cup final in every year ending in 6 since 1936. Fredrikstad in 1936, 1966 and 2006, Lyn in 1946, Skeid in 1956, Brann in 1976 and Tromsø in 1986 and 1996
