Nicole Brewer

Nicole Brewer captured the title of Miss Pennsylvania 2005 on July 2, 2005 in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. A Philadelphia native, Nicole spent most of her childhood in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia. She later moved to Delaware County where she attended Marple Newtown High School.

A recent graduate of Millersville University, Nicole has been a Lancaster County resident for the past four years. She graduated at the top of her class with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication/Broadcasting[citation needed]. While attending Millersville, Nicole served as President of the National Broadcasting Society and was nationally recognized as "Student Member of the Year" at its 2005 National Convention in Hollywood, California. She also served as a National Student Adviser in 2004-2005. She held office as Business Manager for MUTV, the university cable station, and served as a lead anchor for News 99. She worked as a special assignment reporter for GATV in Greeley, Colorado and interned at WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

She aspires to be a news reporter/anchor for a nationally syndicated television program. Throughout the year, Nicole will travel the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania making appearances, hosting events, and acting as a youth advocate through her chosen platform, “Youth Mentoring: From Risk To Resilience.”

On January 21, 2006, Nicole competed in the nationally televised Miss America pageant, making it into the top ten final contestants, ultimately losing to Jennifer Berry of Oklahoma.
