The New York Jets Bike was a motorcycle built by Orange County Choppers on the American reality television show American Chopper. The American Chopper gang has always had major New York pride, being from Orange County, New York. So, when the New York Jets approached Orange County Choppers with a request for an official Jets bike for opening day at Giants Stadium.

The bike is not particularly complex, with no extreme fabrication, paint work, or cutting close to deadlines (the biggest worry came when a custom designed engine piece doesn't fit at first). The insight this episode brings to the field of motorcycle fabrication is day-to-day sales that go through the FCC. This bike is more glamorous given the big sports team association, but the bike itself varies only in small ways from standard OCC production models. Because of this we get both:

  • A look at a style of motorcycle usually not covered by American Chopper
  • More focus on the relationships within the shop (not good for every episode, but it makes for an interesting change)
  • During this episode, while visiting the Jets training camp, the Fire Bike was damaged during a highway accident and by a twist of fate, the NY City Fire Department was there to help out guys.
