Nanyang Polytechnic (Abbreviation: NYP; Chinese: 南洋理工学院; Malay: Politeknik Nanyang) is a modern campus located in Ang Mo Kio next to Yio Chu Kang MRT Station, Singapore.

  • Established on 1 April 1992.
  • Enrolled its pioneer batch of students for its School of Health Sciences and School of Business Management in July 1992.
  • Set up the School of Engineering and the School of Information Technology in July 1993.
  • The French-Singapore Institute, German-Singapore Institute and the Japan-Singapore Institute were transferred from the Economic Development Board to the Polytechnic in February 1993.
  • Operated from five temporary campuses - Bukit Merah, Jurong, Outram, Tiong Bahru and Yishun - before moving to its permanent home in Ang Mo Kio in April 1998.

Spread over 305,000 square metres of land (about the size of 60 football fields), Nanyang Polytechnic is situated next to the Yio Chu Kang MRT Station.

The modern campus, with its new and state-of-the-art facilities, is modelled on a town centre concept to provide all the conveniences of a self-contained "Teaching and Learning City".

Some of the facilities found in the campus include a fully computerised library which is opened to everybody, specialist laboratories, a 300-seater Theatre for the Arts and a 1,200 seater auditorium. The staff apartment blocks are well-furnished and located within the campus premises, providing residents the convenience of proximity.

The retail outlets on campus provide a wide range of merchandise such as multimedia accessories, stationery, gift items, sports goods, food items, fashion apparels featuring shops such as Giordano and Cheers convenience store.

In Nanyang polytechnic, students have a total of 5 months holiday and 7 months school days. It also provides more time for CCA and other activities.

There are track and field, adventure challenge park, gymnasium, and rock-climbing facilities for sports enthusiasts. Games of badminton, table tennis, basketball and ping pong are available in the air-conditioned sports hall. There is also an Olympic-sized swimming pool located beside the sport hall.

Nanyang Polytechnic is most famous for its Information Technology and Digital Media programmes. It also teaches Mechatronics engineering.

Nanyang Polytechnic is also the first polytechnic in Singapore that offered Diploma in Business Informatics.

Students are awarded Diploma in their respective fields after completing the course. The minimum time frame for courses is three years. Graduating students have the option of joining the work-force or continue education in local/overseas University

The Nanyang Polytechnic is also home to 80 over Co-Curricular Activities.
