Morton Junior High School

Morton Junior High School is a 2 year middle school in Morton, Illinois.
Morton Jr high school is a very good school. Mr.Chuck Nagel was the principle until 2006 when he retired along with Vice Principle Evelyn Durham. The current principle is Greg Crider and the Vice Principle is Mr. Carter. The school is an old, boiler heated 2 story building, a baseball diamond, gym, and track with a large field.
The school is a Junior high with a middle school philosophy meaning only 7th and 8th grade are held here but they are divided into teams. The 7th grade is divided into the Green (Band) and White (Orchestra) teams. The Green team subjects are taught by Mrs. Cooper (Science), Mr. Vandenberg (Language Arts), Mrs. Dawson (Math), Miss Neal (Geography), and Mrs. Lehman (Resource). The White team is taught by Mr. Swearingen (Geography), Miss Winchell (Science), Mrs. Jones (Resource), Miss Hasler (Language Arts), and Mr. Wright (Math).
The 8th grade is divided into the Gray team (Band) and the Red team (Orchestra). The Gray team is taught by Mr. Zuck (US History), Mr. Herrmann (Math), Mr. Kutkat (Science), Mrs. Hoecker (Language Arts), and Mrs. Luginbuhl (Resource). The Red team is taught by Mr. Bally (Math), Mrs. Ronin (Language Arts), Mrs. Robinson (Science), Mrs. Gray (Resource), and last but certainly not least, the knowledgable Mr. Wellenreiter (Fantastic guy, always has some higher level and deep coversations in his class) (US History).
The Fine Arts are handled by Mr. Breeden (Chorus), Mrs. Katrina Fitzpatrick (Band), and the ever humorous Mr. Pete Martin (Orchestra).
The Blue team consists of the fantastic Fine Arts section, mentioned above, Mrs. Andrews (The Librarian), Miss Lies (Instructional resource), Mrs. Jones (Resource), and Mrs. Ferrel (Resource). This team also consists of the fantastic Physical Education teachers, Mr. Millard, Mrs. Goss, Mrs. Ogden, and Mr. Yarcho.
The final group within the staff is the unit teachers whom teach classes that the entire school takes throughout the year. There is the wonderfully artistic Mrs. Becker (Art), the technologically advanced Mr. Jost (Computer), the hilarious and fun Mr. Terhark (CIT--Career Industrial Technology), the compassionate and good humored Mrs. Zwaga (Health), and the tolerant and fun Mrs. Cassidy (FCS--Family and Consumer Education).
