Morrisville is a village in Morristown, Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 2,009.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 5.0 km² (1.9 mi²). 4.9 km² (1.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it (2.08%) is water. Morrisville is known for its motto "Small Town, Big Plans!". The citizens come and go about their daily business kindly and welcome tourists from all around the globe. The town is a thriving modern community, with old Vermont charm. Many local businesses sponsor the sports teams at Peoples Academy High School which as of 2006, holds the most won state championships for most cross country skiing. The town has two weekly newspapers called "The News & Citizen" and "The Transcript". The town also boasts a movie theater called "Bijou Cineplex 4" which has been in Morrisville since the mid-80's.

As of the census² of 2000, there were 2,009 people, 860 households, and 459 families residing in the village. The population density was 412.6/km² (1,069.7/mi²). There were 909 housing units at an average density of 186.7/km² (484.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.96% White, 0.75% African American, 0.35% Native American, 0.90% Asian, 0.15% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.70% of the population.

There were 860 households out of which 26.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.8% were married couples living together, 14.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 46.6% were non-families. 36.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.19 and the average family size was 2.90.

In the village the population was spread out with 21.8% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 25.3% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 22.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 81.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 73.4 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $27,969, and the median income for a family was $37,697. Males had a median income of $26,542 versus $19,828 for females. The per capita income for the village was $15,446. About 9.9% of families and 14.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18.9% of those under age 18 and 11.2% of those age 65 or over.
