Montana's Cookhouse is a Canadian restaurant headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario. There are restaurants located in Canada from coast to coast in addition to US locations in Michigan and New York State. The original name was Montana's Cookhouse Saloon, but when the restaurants entered the states the name Saloon was removed because it was not the image they wanted for it. The theme of the restaurant is of a lodge/wilderness setting and they are known in Canada for their Ribs and other lodge fare. The restaurant aims to be a family/casual concept, rather than fine dining. Recently, CARA has promoted Montana's with a new set of TV ads consisting of a mounted buck and moose hunting trophies conversing about the restaurant, and a lot more is being spent on promoting the concept. The original idea was thought up by Kelsey's inc. owner Paul Jeffrey and President Nils Kravis, but is now owned by CARA foods. It's current president is Andy O'Brien. The chain is owned by Cara Operations.
