A miniature flag, sometimes called a stick flag, is a small flag on a short pole. Miniature flags are usually found as 4 inch by 6 inch flags stapled onto a black plastic 10 inch pole, and usually have a gold spear on top of the pole. There are special bases that are especially made for these 4 x 6 inch flags.

Most miniature flag bases are colored black and are made of plastic. They are round in shape, and can be ordered with almost any number of holes from 1 to 12. Some bases are made for an extremely large collections, with usually 50 or 100 holes.
Other widely-used bases are half-balls of styrofoam, and wood blocks with 3/16 inch holes drilled into them.
