Millbourne is a borough in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 943 at the 2000 census. Millbourne borders Philadelphia along Cobbs Creek. It also borders Upper Darby and many people believe it to be part of Upper Darby. They both are served by Upper Darby School District. Market Street serves as part of the border with Upper Darby. The borough is small enough that it is entirely within walking distance of its station on the Market-Frankford Line, offering a 15 minute commute to Center City. It is also within walking distance of 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby and 63rd Street in West Philadelphia. Millbourne is home to a gurudwara, a Keralite church, and a mosque.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²), all land.

Millbourne is the smallest municipality in Delaware County, Pennsylvania by area and, with a population density of 13,749 people per square mile [1], the most densely populated municipality in Pennsylvania.

In 2000, 40.2% of Millbourne residents identified as being of Asian Indian heritage. This was the highest percentage of Indian Americans of any place in the United States. One source [2] estimates that as of 2006, Millbourne's percentage of Indian American residents has increased to 63%.

Millbourne is also the only community in Pennsylvania with an Asian American majority.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 943 people, 366 households, and 214 families residing in the borough. The population density was 5,201.3/km² (13,749.1/mi²). There were 420 housing units at an average density of 2,316.6/km² (6,123.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough was 21.31% White, 17.18% African American, 0.21% Native American, 54.29% Asian, 2.55% from other races, and 4.45% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.04% of the population.

There were 366 households out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.1% were married couples living together, 9.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.5% were non-families. 34.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.43.

In the borough the population was spread out with 23.5% under the age of 18, 11.3% from 18 to 24, 35.2% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 7.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 113.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 114.6 males.

The median income for a household in the borough was $30,185, and the median income for a family was $39,063. Males had a median income of $22,188 versus $21,458 for females. The per capita income for the borough was $15,752. About 7.8% of families and 10.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 9.0% of those under age 18 and 16.9% of those age 65 or over.

Millbourne borough is served by the Upper Darby School District.
