A meat pie is a savoury pie that covers or contains a filling of meat and other savoury ingredients. It is usually made up of beef, pork, or lamb; however, it can also contain fish. A well known variety of pie is the Australian meat pie which is a variety of the traditional meat pie.

The Ghanaian "meat pie" is similar to the Jamaican beef patty. It can be baked or fried, and the filling can pretty much be anything from corned beef (the mostly widely used) to just onions and tomatoes.

The Natchitoches meat pie is one of the official state foods of the U.S. state of Louisiana.

Hispanic meat pies, empanadas, are usually baked or fried and the pastry shell also varies. The filling is equally varied. Ground beef with olives, fried egg, pulled pork, diced steak, even cheese & salami are the norm in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru for example.
