March or Die is a 1977 film directed by Dick Richards, starring Gene Hackman, Terence Hill, Catherine Deneuve and Ian Holm.
The film celebrates the 1920s French Foreign Legion. Foreign Legion Major Foster (Hackman), an American haunted by his memories of the recently-ended Great War, is assigned to protect a group of archaeologists at their dig.
There have been at least two different endings of this film shown in theatres and on T.V. One where Terence Hill's character deserts at the end, and one where the character stays in the Legion.
