The 2006-07 season of Luxembourg's National Division will run from 5 August 2006 to 20 May 2007.

The National Division was expanded from the 2005-06 season's complement of twelve teams to fourteen. Those fourteen clubs are:
- FC Differdange 03 (promoted from the Division of Honour)
- F91 Dudelange (the reigning champions)
- FC Etzella Ettelbruck
- CS Grevenmacher
- Jeunesse Esch
- UN Käerjeng 97
- FC Mamer 32 (promoted from the Division of Honour)
- FC Mondercange (promoted from the Division of Honour)
- CS Pétange
- FC Progrès Niedercorn (promoted from the Division of Honour)
- Racing FC Union Luxembourg
- FC Swift Hesperange
- FC Victoria Rosport
- FC Wiltz 71
Unlike in previous seasons, when a more complicated system was used, the 2006-07 season will involve only a round-robin amongst the fourteen teams. Thus, each team will play 26 games over the course of the calendar.
Luxembourg has been assigned one spot in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, for the league champions; it has also been assigned two spots in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Cup, for the runners-up and the Luxembourg Cup winners. If, as in 2005-06, the league champions and runners-up reach the cup final, the second UEFA Cup spot will go to the team placed third in the league.
F91 Dudelange are widely predicted to successfully defend their title.[1] Dudelange strengthened their first-team squad by signing Thierry Joly and Alexandre Lecomte, whilst also holding on to most of their existing players. By comparison, Jeunesse Esch and Etzella Ettelbruck, Dudelange's closest challengers in 2005-06, have lost key players; Jeunesse captain Manuel Cardoni retired, whilst Etzella lost Patrick Grettnich, Luc Mischo, and Marc Reuter.
